Projects

A look at the kinds of studio, camera, sound and lighting work we carry out for live news, interview and talk programmes.

Selected work

Studios, galleries and sets we have worked on

These pictures show the typical work behind our services: galleries wired and tested, rooms treated for speech, lighting rigged for broadcast cameras. Each shows a stage of getting a live programme ready.

Vision mixer, monitor wall and intercom were laid out around the director's sightlines. Cabling was labelled throughout so engineers can trace any signal quickly.

Shot positions were planned on paper first, then adjusted during rehearsal. Operators were briefed on framing for host, guests and wide establishing shots.

Acoustic treatment of an interview room

Room measurements guided where absorbers went and how far microphones sat from guests. The result was steadier speech with less reflected sound from hard walls.

Key, fill and background fixtures were balanced so the presenter looks consistent across a long bulletin. Rigging points were checked before any fixture was hung.

The rundown was walked through with presenters, director and sound. Timings and cues were adjusted before the first broadcast.

Each talkback channel and signal path was tested in turn and recorded on a checklist. Any fault was fixed before the crew arrived for rehearsal.

Who we work for

The teams our studio services are built around

Our work suits anyone responsible for putting live speech and pictures on air. The groups below describe the kinds of team that usually need us, and what each tends to ask for from camera, sound, lighting and workflow support.

  • Regional news producers

Teams running daily bulletins who need a gallery and studio that behave the same every day, with clear lighting, clean sound and dependable routing.

  • Station managers

Decision-makers planning a new studio or an upgrade, who want a specification, a written quotation and a tested installation they can hand to their own engineers.

  • Interview and talk show teams

Production teams who need multi-camera shot planning, comfortable lighting for guests and microphone placement that keeps conversation clear.

  • Independent production companies

Smaller crews hiring a studio or rebuilding one, who benefit from camera crews, rundown planning and on-the-day technical support.

  • Community and local broadcasters

Organisations moving into live output, who need a practical, proportionate studio and operators who feel confident running it.

  • Corporate and institutional studios

Teams producing live briefings and panels, who need dependable acoustics, lighting and a simple workflow for staff without a broadcast background.
